Born and raised in Richmond, Virginia, Owner and Executive Chef Amp has always believed food is more than a meal—it’s a way to connect, heal, and celebrate community. His early work as a community activist shaped the heart behind Midnight’s Soulfood, grounding the brand in service, culture, and purpose.
Founded in 2013, Midnight’s Soulfood is a Black-owned culinary experience proudly serving the Richmond Metropolitan area and beyond. With deep roots in preserving Black culture, the brand is known for bold, love-filled meals, therapeutic flavors, and soulful dishes that feed both the body and the spirit. What began as cooking for family, friends, and neighbors quickly grew into something much bigger—a movement centered on togetherness and care.
